Melanie started her career in Toronto, Canada in various retail banking management roles. She received her Canadian certification in Financial Planning and became an Investment and Retirement Planner with the Royal Bank Financial Group. Following a re-location to Summit, New Jersey, Melanie obtained her U.S. certification in Financial Planning. She was a Financial Planner with Ernst and Young, Wells Fargo and The Powell Financial Group. At these firms, she provided advice and analysis to the firm's clients in the areas of cash flow, retirement, benefits, education funding, insurance and tax planning. After a further move to Chicago, Melanie pursued the Enrolled Agent designation and worked with an accounting firm during their tax season preparing personal income tax returns. Melanie volunteers as a Financial Coach with The Centre for Economic Progress, a nonprofit organization in Chicago.
Melanie received an Economics degree from York University, Toronto, Canada. She is a Certified Financial Planner and an Enrolled Agent, a federally-licensed tax practitioner.
