Client and Corporate Services
Peg is a Partner and an Integration Leader based out of the North Bay office.
Prior to joining Cerity Partners, Peg was Chief Operating Officer for Brouwer & Janachowski. She was responsible for implementing the company’s vision, strategic plan, business goals, and directing all operational, administrative, talent management, and infrastructure activities for the firm. She also served as a financial advisor and was responsible for the Women’s Financial Council—the company’s team of women financial advisors. She hosted the Women’s Money Circle, a networking and support group for women who want to master the management of their finances, and directed the company’s outreach to women who are rebuilding their financial lives following divorce or death of a spouse. Peg was a Principal of the firm and a member of the Investment Committee.
Previously, Peg was Vice President and Fixed Income Business Manager at Wellington Management, a Boston-based global investment firm, and before that Chief Operating Officer of Rampart Investment Management, an RIA specializing in equity options strategies for individuals, family offices, and institutions. During her more than 30 years in financial services, she has held executive positions with J.P. Morgan Securities, Fidelity Investments, and Andersen Consulting, now Accenture.
What do you do in your personal life that helps you help your clients?
I "walk the talk", particularly with female clients. Women are more confident when they see other women tackling all of the challenges of life, including family responsibilities, self-care, and health, career, and personal finances.
What inspired you to pursue your career in financial management? How?
My very first client while a Consultant for Andersen Consulting was Fidelity Investments: Fund Accounting and Custodial Services. Despite being a biochemistry major in college, I loved the math involved in the financial services work!
Why is your specialty important, especially today?
Most people do not like to deal with the human side of managing other people. I like this side of the business and enjoy having a spirited discussion about how we help teammates grow and get the best work from them.
