Women have unique life experiences, needs, and objectives. They are entrepreneurs, parents, divorcees, philanthropists, widowers, creators, stewards, and inheritors of wealth. Sometimes, they do not fall neatly into any of these categories or are mixtures of several.

Women’s financial planning needs are different because of:

Unequal Pay
Longer Lifespan
Career Breaks
Lower Allocations to Investing

According to the U.S. Department of Labor, on average, women working full time, year-round, are paid 83.7% of what men are paid. This inequity is even greater for Black and Hispanic women.

According to The Journal of the American Medical Association, women in the U.S. live about six years longer than men, so their money needs to last longer, too.

Since women often care for young children and aging parents, they have fewer years in the workforce.

Numerous studies suggest that women invest less of their income and invest less aggressively than men.
