With the end of the year comes a number of deadlines and other financial strategies to review with an advisor. This year, there’s more to review than usual.
Many provisions of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act are in effect for the first time, and as a result, planning strategies you’ve previously used may no longer be applicable. New provisions to be aware of include a reduced value of itemized deductions for higher-income taxpayers, a new 0.5% AGI floor on charitable deductions for itemizers, new rules for alternative minimum tax, Qualified Opportunity Zones, and qualified small business stock, and an increased state and local tax deduction cap, among other changes.
Our checklist will help you take stock of your savings, investments, retirement planning, tax exposure, and risk management, so you can plan for any actions that may be needed before the end of the year. Download the full checklist by clicking on the image below.
If you’re looking to maximize the value of your year-end planning decisions and more information about new provisions in place for this year, our 2026 Year-End Opportunities guide walks through the changes in detail. It also includes information about strategies our clients are deploying before December 31.
