Biography

Bill is a Partner at Cerity Partners Ventures and works on multiple funds covering the energy, insurance, and media sectors.

Before joining Cerity Partners, Bill joined Touchdown Ventures in 2021 as a venture partner after working with startups for 28 years as both an investor and operating executive. Bill spent 18 years at Hudson Ventures, a top performing NYC early-stage B2B technology fund. Before Hudson, Bill co-founded and led two venture portfolios including Citigroup’s initial strategic corporate venture fund. Bill remains active in the venture ecosystem. He is currently on the advisory board for Vitalize Ventures, a seed investment fund, and is outside advisor and board member to multiple startup companies. Bill has held multiple operating roles including leading Citigroup’s merger and acquisition group.  He has also been a CFO and finance executive in multiple successful early-stage companies. 

Education

  • MBA in finance from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business
  • B.S. and B.A. in engineering and economics from the University of Notre Dame

Highlights

  • Invested in over 30 startups and $250MM      
  • Had 8 investment companies go IPO
  • Completed over 15 domestic and international M&A transactions for Citigroup and spun-off one business unit in an IPO
  • Provided financial and valuation analysis for Citicorp’s Board of Directors regarding Citicorp/Travelers’ $70BN merger
  • Negotiated multiple joint ventures and outsourcing deals
