Muntathar Al-Shimary, Ph.D.

Muntathar Al-Shimary is an Associate on the Cerity Partners Ventures team in the Chicago office. He is a member of the healthcare practice, focusing on early- and growth-stage investments in oral drug delivery, formulation, excipients, drug product manufacturing, and supply chain.

Prior to joining Cerity Partners, Muntathar completed his PhD in molecular and cell biology at the University of California, Berkeley, where his doctoral research focused on high-throughput functional genomics method development using CRISPR systems in the laboratories of Jennifer Doudna and David Savage. He previously worked in the corporate business office at AbbVie’s headquarters, supporting high-priority initiatives through the company’s Strategic Leadership Program, and was a venture fellow at NFX.
