Biography

Ben is a Partner and Counsel in the legal department and based in the firm’s Park Avenue New York office. Ben is a member of firm’s Partner Development team and responsible for managing general legal matters related to the organization. Ben also previously focused on compliance matters, assisting with all aspects of the firm’s compliance with the Investment Advisers Act of 1940.

Prior to joining Cerity Partners, Ben worked at KPMG LLP in its Regulatory Enforcement & Compliance group

Why is your work important, especially today?

At Cerity Partners, the in-house legal team is uniquely positioned to help advance the firm’s business while also tasked with managing the firm’s risk. Today, when a fast-paced work environment is increasingly the norm, it is important for any company to be able lean on its in-house attorneys and their excellent judgment, which is a prerequisite for the role.

How would you describe your best day doing what you do?

My best days as an attorney on the firm’s in-house legal team are when I have opportunities to contribute directly and meaningfully to the successes of the firm and my colleagues. They say the best teammates make their teammates better, and that’s what I try to do each day.
