Q & A

Q:

What inspired you to pursue your career in financial management?

The stock market has interested me since my early middle school days where a math teacher gave us a project to pick stocks and chart their performance over the course of a semester, which I found very interesting. My favorite class in high school was Economics, so when I went to college I quickly focused on Econ and Finance.

Why is your work important, especially today?

I have specialized in back office Operations and Accounting for the Investment Management industry for over two decades now and have seen a number of changes in technology that has made reporting on client accounts more and more sophisticated. With this change in technology, I have also seen clients get more sophisticated in their expectations, and being able to utilize the technology available to meet these expectations is more and more important in keeping clients satisfied.

What should your clients know the most about you?

I have years of experience working in the industry but am fascinated by innovation and technology and stay eager to learn the new ways to improve the data and reporting that we can provide to our clients.

What kind of clients work best for you?

Clients that really pay attention to their reports and ask questions about them often and can assist with identifying issues or ways to make improvements in how they experience their data and reports.

What do you do in your personal life that helps you help your clients?

I try to get out and do things away from work that I find relaxing, such as biking, cooking, and finding new restaurants. These are all things that allow my brain to get away from the technical side of things and be refreshed to dive back into the numbers and problem solving side of Portfolio Operations.

How would you describe your best day doing what you do?

The best day is getting a question from an advisor and/or client regarding a report or something they saw on the client portal and having it trigger an idea that can lead to an improvement that could not only answer this specific question but make our reporting or the portal a better experience for other clients as well.

What does the world need now more than anything?

I think the world needs more compassion and collaboration. It seems like everyone is more and more focused on what is best for themselves and not how to work with others to make the world the best place it can be for everyone.
