Michael Griffin, JD, C(k)P®, CRPC®, MBA

Mike is a Senior Principal and Head of Partner Recruiting at Cerity Partners, where he is passionate about building the next chapter of the partnership through deepening its ability to serve clients across the country. He brings over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, with experience in wealth solutions, business development, and partner development.

Prior to joining Cerity Partners, Mike was the Head of Workplace Wealth Solutions Sales and Relationship Management at UBS. Before that, he spent 18 years at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he served as Head of Retirement Plan Sales and Wealth Management Conversion within their Workplace and Institutional Retirement Group. Mike also led Merrill Lynch branches in Birmingham, AL, Fort Walton Beach, FL, and Bloomfield Hills, MI. Earlier in his career, Mike practiced law as a financial services attorney at Burr & Forman in Birmingham, AL.

Mike has been recognized for his contributions to the industry, including being named one of the “Most Influential Executives in America” by 401(k) Wire in 2023 and receiving a Workplace Innovation award for excellence from WealthManagement.com in 2024.

Mike is active in his community and industry, serving on the Auburn University Alumni Board of Directors and as President of the Charlotte Auburn Club. He has served on multiple workplace industry and non-profit boards and worked extensively with Nasdaq Private Markets. He also coaches travel baseball for the Copperheads baseball organization and the Harris Road Middle School Baseball team.

Mike received his Bachelor’s Degree from Auburn University, his Juris Doctorate from Cumberland School of Law, and his MBA from Samford University.

Mike is based in Charlotte, NC and outside of work, he enjoys playing guitar and piano, and is an avid fan of 80s music. He stays active through working out, baseball, basketball, pickleball, and golf. Mike and his wife, Carrie, have four children: Reid, Winn, Candler, and Arden.
