Q & A

Q:

Who inspired you to pursue your career in financial management?

My father. When I got my first job he stressed the importance of investing for the long term, and reimbursed me for my 401(k) contributions to make sure I was saving when I couldn’t afford to.

Was there a specific incident in your life that made it clear you were made for this career?

My mother unfortunately had a bad experience with a broker right after she retired. He invested her in an unsuitable portfolio of growth companies at the peak of of the first tech boom. I was able to help her find representation and assist in a recovering some assets. At that point I truly realized how important thoughtful investing is.

Why is your work important, especially today?

Given our aging population clients need to know who to turn to, whether it be health challenges or assisting with a transition.

What kind of clients work best for you?

I work best with clients that are looking for someone to collaborate with, and with those that need help in some of life’s challenging transitions.

How would you describe your best day doing what you do?

A good day for me is when I’m able to help a client solve a complex issue or share a solution that they have never considered.
