Q & A

Q:

Was there a specific incident in your life that made it clear you were made for this career?

I have always liked numbers and building relationships. When my college investment class had a financial planner as a guest speaker, I knew I found my future career. Fast forward to when the financial crisis emphasized the importance of our job during difficult times. While it wasn’t easy, I learned a lot, deepened client relationships, and the challenges made me want to work that much harder to show clients they were in good hands.

Why is your work important, especially today?

People are busy and they tend to not focus on their whole financial picture. We bring it all together and give them peace of mind so that they can focus on what is important to them.

What should your clients know the most about you?

My favorite compliment from a client/prospect is, “it really seems you love what you do.” And I do. I have the best clients and colleagues and I am grateful for their trust.

What kind of clients work best for you?

Clients that are involved in the process but want and trust our advice.

How would you describe your best day doing what you do?

It’s when a client sits back and realizes the plan is working. I love when clients realize they can add goals because they are in such good shape. I then see real joy – giving to children, donating to a charity, etc.

What does the world need now more than anything?

As always, kindness. I just hung a picture in my house that says “in a world where you can be anything, be kind.”
