Biography

Richard is a Partner and the Market Leader for Los Angeles. He balances his management duties with time spent working directly with the firm’s clients. A 30-year veteran of the investment management business, he helps affluent families, foundations, and non-profits define and realize their financial goals. Richard specializes in complex risk and wealth management strategies, including investment, trust, estate, retirement and tax planning.

Prior to joining Cerity Partners, Richard was the Chief Executive Officer at Covington Capital Management. Before joining Covington in 2006, he was Chief Operating Officer and senior portfolio manager with Brown Brothers Harriman in Los Angeles. Previously, Richard served as portfolio manager at U.S. Trust, and as an analyst for Bank of America Capital Management and Security Pacific Investment Management.

Richard is of Cuban-descent and fluent in Spanish. He is passionate about sports, travel, photography, and lifelong learning.
