Q & A

Q:

How would you describe your best day doing what you do?

My best day involves me and my colleagues in the trenches with clients and truly helping them make a financial or life breakthrough. It’s when our work helps a client get completely beyond a complexity, fear, or bottleneck that has been holding them back.

Is there a specific incident in life that made it clear you were made for this career?

Early on in my business career, I demonstrated a knack for being uber-resourceful – for taking resources from a lower level of productivity to a higher level of productivity. When I saw the emerging opportunity in financial planning and wealth management industry, two floors up from the oil company I was working at, at age 25, I just knew I could take my rather unique resourcefulness skills along with some good spreadsheet skills, and really help people. I was fortunate, literally the first person I met with became a client. From that point on I just knew this career, this industry was for me.

What should your clients know the most about you?

My clients should know that I care deeply about them, and I truly want to serve them in the most honorable and effective way. It’s important that they know I have a good solid ability to listen to them, review exactly where they are at and where they want to go, integrate it with the current economic, tax, and investment landscape, and then give them clarity about their strengths, weaknesses, and vulnerabilities and what to do about them.

What do you do in your personal life that helps you help your clients?

“My entire adulthood, I have had a great interest in the topic of personal growth and human flourishing. The programs I am engaged in, the coaches I utilize, the books I read, and so on, all provide an increased understanding of what it is to live a full, happy and whole life in the face of life’s ups, downs and challenges. This helps me better guide clients through the complex and fast changing world.”
