Biography

Cindy Chan believes the best financial advice starts with understanding the person behind the numbers, their goals, values, concerns and vision for their life. As a Wealth Advisor and a Certified Financial Therapist (CFT®️) in Cerity Partners’ Albany office, Cindy combines sophisticated wealth planning with a deep understanding of the emotional side of money. Cindy helps clients turn what matters most to them into a clear financial strategy, bringing expertise across investments, estate and income tax planning, compensation and benefits, insurance and charitable giving. She creates a space where individuals, families, corporate executives and business owners can talk honestly about their finances, ask difficult questions and navigate decisions with confidence.

Cindy’s path to wealth management has given her a perspective that extends well beyond traditional financial planning. Before joining Cerity Partners, she worked closely with family office and high-net-worth clients and built a broad background in HR, operations and leadership at Fortune 500 companies and in the public sector. Those experiences taught her that even the most technically sound decision has to work for the person making it. She understands the competing priorities, relationships, transitions and emotions that can shape financial choices, and she brings that perspective into every client relationship.

Outside of work, Cindy’s curiosity is reflected in how she spends her time. She loves planning her next travel adventure, being outdoors and making memories with her family. Whether she’s exploring somewhere new or sitting across from a client, she brings the same genuine interest in people, their stories and what matters most to them.
