Reece Oleson, CFP®, CEPA®, RICP®

Reece is a Senior Associate in the West Des Moines, Iowa office. With a passion for continuous growth and excellence, Reece has built a broad and well-rounded skillset across key areas of financial planning.

Prior to joining Cerity Partners, Reece led the financial planning function at Gilbert & Cook, helping clients bring clarity and structure to even the most complex financial decisions. As Director of Financial Planning, he oversaw the development and execution of comprehensive planning strategies — helping ensure each client’s plan was thoughtfully designed, carefully implemented, and aligned with their long-term goals.

Reece believes that effective financial planning is both highly technical and deeply personal. He works closely with advisors and planning specialists to help ensure every client receives a tailored experience — one that reflects their unique priorities, values, and vision for the future. Whether guiding retirement income strategies, supporting business owners through transitions, or coordinating multi-generational planning, Reece is committed to helping clients move forward with confidence.

Reece earned his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® designation in 2013, followed by the Retirement Income Certified Professional® (RICP®) designation in 2019 and the Certified Exit Planning Advisor® (CEPA®) credential in 2022. This combination allows him to support clients across a wide range of planning needs — from retirement income strategies to business succession and long-term legacy planning.

Reece takes pride in being part of a team that consistently puts clients first. He values collaboration, precision, and thoughtful execution — helping ensure that each financial plan not only works on paper, but supports real-life decisions and meaningful outcomes.

Reece and his wife, Andrea, live in Des Moines with their two daughters. As a family, they enjoy spending time together in the kitchen, creating and experimenting with new recipes.

Each summer, they make it a priority to travel to a new destination — embracing opportunities to explore, learn, and create lasting memories together.
